What is Ashiatsu + Description of our offerings
what is ashiatsu?
Ashiatsu, is a barefoot massage technique where the massage therapist uses overhead bars for support and balance to apply deep sustained pressure with their feet.
The broad surface of the foot is an excellent tool for delivering both long fluid strokes up and down the full body as well as detailed work that is often needed through the upper back, neck and arms. The foot is a great tool because it lacks bony or pointy areas that are often used for deep tissue work such as the forearm and elbows.
Most people who try ashi never want to go back to traditional work again!
“SoleMassage” is our brand of ashiatsu and the name of Mariah’s training course. Mariah has been teaching massage therapist the art of ashiatsu since 2015.
Services
SoleMassage
Solemassage is our signature massage. Long deep strokes up and down the body enable you to space out while you get a deeply relaxing massage.
This massage is ideal for regular maintenance massage as well as those of you who want to disconnect from the world and reconnect with your body.
We will still address your sore spots, just in a very passive way while you drift off.
The heeler
The Heeler is similar to solemassage except that we will spend more time focusing on your specific aches and pains.
This massage will require a collaborative effort between you and your therapist as we work slowly and deeply to address and release pain holding in your soft tissue.
Stretch
Stretch can be combined with solemassage or The Heeler to add some mobility work and increase your range of motion.
Based on thai massage practices as well as stretch therapy. A great addition to barefoot bodywork.
This service is currently only available with Annie or Mariah.
